Tips and tricks in mind while running a marathon


Gearing up for a marathon? Are you keeping a track of your body's water content? Keeping  yourself hydrated plays a most dominant role of marathon training,especially during hot summer. You must drink more than you d during normal days while practicing for long run. Other wise dehydration will ruin your performance.

You need to drink regularly to stay well-hydrated. But how much you drink depends upon how warm and humid condition are, how much and how fast you are training and how much you sweat.

You must not wait to get thirst t drink water.Start drinking early in the run. Do drink regularly thorough out the day. If you run more than an hour, consume sports drinks or drink water and take salt tablets, with out sugar.


How to measure your fluid requirement?

 Weigh yourself before and after running. Determine how much weight you lost during the run and reciprocate it with water equivalent to one-and-half times the amount of weight you lost.

The effects of dehydration


You might be exhausted and will sweat more. And your body works harder and uses more water. It will gradually loose the ability to cool itself, which in turn decrease your energy level and makes you run slower.

How often should runners drink?

One needs to hydrate frequently during workout,in addition drinking more during recovery. Make rule of drinking every 20 mins. But, one must drink more than normal on a warm day.

Cucumber Juice


Ingredients:

·         Cucumber – 1  chopped and peeled,cut into small pieces
·         Curd – 1 cup
·         Mint Leaves -5- 6 Nos
·         Salt – as Prefered

Method:

·         Put Cucumber,curd and mint leaves in a blender or mixie and blend it until smooth.Add salt and 1cup of water to it as needed.
·         Serve it into a glass garnished with Mint leaves

How to make tea with Rose Flowers

Are you wondering how to beat this hot summer?.Well then it is time for a change just check out this recipe for a cool and healthy drink.


Ingredients


·         Rose Petals – 1  cup (Do be sure that flowers are edible and free from pesticides)
·         Green Cardamom Pods – 2
·         Honey or Jaggery – as Preferred



Method:


·         Bring 3 cups of water to boil and add rose petals and green cardamom to it.
·         Boil it for 5 to 7 mins
·         Remove the vessel and allow it to settle for 20 mins or more,
·     Now strain the liquid and squeeze the rose petals and cardamom pods to ensure that the maximum  flavor is released from it.
·         Now add Honey or Jaggery
·         Serve hot.

How to make Nannari Tea


In an era where variety of foods available in the restaurant we don’t have time to choose what to eat? .Indeed food items which is labeled as healthy will one day be labeled as Unhealthy which may affect the whole body in turn. We always look for coco-cola, Pepsi to soothe our thirst in this summer season. We rather bother to see the side effects produced by consuming this drinks. Just a sip of health drink like Nannari which is also known as "Sarasaparilla" will make our body cool and keeps us healthy and fresh throughout the day. Now let us see healthy recipe to start your day with a beautiful smile.




Ingredients

·         Nannari Roots  5 (1’ piece)
·         Cardomom Pod – 1
·         Honey or Jaggery – as preferred



Method:

·         Dry Nannari roots in the shade, and when it is fully dried
·         Grind it with Cardomom Pod and keep it aside.
·         Bring 3 cups of water to boil in a vessel.
·         Add Nannari Powder and heat it in low flame for 2 to 3mins.  Remove from heat after 3 mins and strain it.
·         Now add Jaggery or honey as you prefer.

How to avoid Hair Loss

  • Oil Massage


  1. Massage your scalp with oil atleast a week to reduce hair loss. 
  2. This treatment will not only increase the blood flow to the hair follicles but also gives the strength to your hair roots. It helps in reducing the stress and tension and relax your mind and body. 
  3. You can use coconut oil as a base with olive or castor oil
  • Method:·

  1.     Take few drops of oil in your palm and massage it to your scalp using your finger tips for 5 mins. Do this every day or atleast a week for better result.

  • Red Onions:

Do you know that Onion juice helps in hair loss as it has high amount of sulfur?.Well It helps improving the blood circulation on the scalp to hair follicles and reduces inflammation.

The antibacterial properties of the onion juice helps in killing germs and other parasites and it is very useful in treating scalp infection which inturn prevents from hair loss.

In 2002 a study conducted by Journel of Dermatology revels that 80 percent of participants who used onion juice experienced hair regrowth.

Method:
·         Just extract the juice of the onion by grinding it in the mixie and strain it.Apply this juice in scalp and message it for 10 mins. Shampoo your hair after 30 mins.
·         You can use aloe vera gel with onion juice and massage your scalp for 10 mins and after 30 mins wash it off with a mild shampoo.
3.Fenugreek Seeds:

      Fenugreek Seeds which is also called as methi is very effective in the treatment of hair fall.It actually contains hormone antecedents which will enhance hair growth and strengthen the follicles.It also contains proteins and nicotinic acid which is very useful in hair growth.

Method:

1.       Soak Fenugreek Seeds overnight in water.
2.       Next morning grind it to a fine paste.
3.       Apply this paste to the hair and massage it well and leave it for 30 mins.
4.       Rinse your hair with water after 30 mins.

Try this simple treatment for a month and see the difference.


Flaxseeds:

  Do you know that Flaxseeds is rich in omega-3 fatty acids which will prevent hair loss and enhance hair growth.
·         Consume a handful of freshly ground flaxseeds with a glass of water daily in the morning.

2.       Hibiscus Flower.

1.       Add 5 Red Hibiscus flower in to one cup of coconut oil.
2.       Heat the solution for 10-20 mins.

4.       Apply it every day and massage your hair for 5 to 10 mins and then wash it off.

1.       Put Papaya and Musk Melon in the mixie or blender and blend it together with 2 cups of water
2.       Now add honey and blend it well together.
